![]() Nature or Nurture? Great question when it comes to technology. Rather than being born with a "silver spoon in their mouths", our children seem to be born with an innate knack and ability to use technology. Put a smartphone or a tablet in the hands of child and they immediately know what to do! I realize that there is a big debate on whether this is bad or good, but with some reservations, I feel that it can only be good. We live in a digital society where information can magically appear on a page in nano-seconds. If we don’t allow our children to use technology from an early age, they will be left behind by the time they go to preschool. There are an infinite number of websites and apps out there that are age appropriate and educational. With parental guidance, prudent review of the resources, and appropriate time allotments, technology can truly be a great tool for learning. Don’t fear the future, embrace it. |
